Our journey began over 25 years ago when our visionary founder and Director, Bob Fenwick, embarked on a mission to create a platform that would guide individuals through the intricate path of immigration.
With an extensive background as a Licensed Immigration Adviser (LIA NO 200800177), Bob’s expertise has been the guiding light for countless success stories in the realm of immigration.
Adding to the strength of Ivisalaw is our esteemed Co-Director, Kanchana Kulasighe, a stalwart with over 15 years of experience in immigration services and Skilled Migrant Recruitment.
Kanchana’s journey reflects a commitment to excellence, and her expertise has been instrumental in enhancing our range of services. Her profound understanding of the intricate details of immigration, coupled with her skilled management, has propelled Ivisalaw to newer heights.
Ivisalaw NZ was founded in 1999 by Bob Fenwick, a highly respected Licensed Immigration Adviser with extensive experience in the New Zealand immigration industry. Bob has built a strong reputation for providing practical, ethical, and results-driven immigration advice, supporting both individuals and businesses across a wide range of visa and residence pathways. Over the years, he has worked extensively with employers, skilled migrants, and complex immigration cases, contributing significantly to the growth and success of the practice.
Following many successful years leading Ivisalaw NZ, Bob has now stepped back from full-time practice and is semi-retired. However, he continues to play an important role within the firm as a Senior Licensed Immigration Adviser, providing guidance on complex matters and supporting the advisory team with his depth of knowledge and experience. His long-standing involvement in the industry, combined with his practical understanding of immigration processes, makes him a valuable mentor and trusted resource to the Ivisalaw NZ team.
Today, as Ivisalaw NZ continues under the leadership of Kanchana Kulasinghe, Bob remains closely connected to the practice, providing ongoing support and ensuring continuity, experience, and high professional standards are maintained.

Ivisalaw NZ is led by Kanchana Kulasinghe, an experienced immigration practice manager with over 20 years of experience in immigration business operations and compliance in New Zealand.
Kanchana has built her career around managing immigration practices, ensuring strong compliance frameworks, and delivering high-quality client service. Over the years, she has played a key role in supporting both individual and corporate clients by overseeing efficient and well-structured immigration processes, while maintaining high professional standards within the practice. While Kanchana does not personally provide immigration advice, she works closely with Ivisalaw NZ’s team of Licensed Immigration Advisers. Her role focuses on ensuring that all services delivered by the practice are aligned with regulatory requirements and uphold a high level of professionalism, accuracy, and ethical standards.
Kanchana also brings strong expertise in recruitment and workforce support. Through her involvement with her recruitment business, “Let’s Work”, she has assisted New Zealand employers in sourcing both local and overseas staff. This experience provides her with valuable insight into employer needs, workforce planning, and the practical challenges involved in hiring migrant workers. Her combined experience in recruitment and immigration practice management allows her to effectively coordinate between employers, clients, and Licensed Immigration Advisers, ensuring a smooth and well-managed process. Kanchana is committed to maintaining a compliant, client-focused environment and supporting the development of her team to ensure continuous improvement and high service standards. Sakina Silva is a Licensed Immigration Adviser at Ivisalaw NZ, supporting a wide range of immigration matters. Originally from a migrant background, Sakina moved to New Zealand at a young age and has grown up through the New Zealand education system. This gives her a strong understanding of both the migrant experience and Kiwi culture, allowing her to connect easily with clients from diverse backgrounds.
Sakina holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Sociology from KL University, along with a Graduate Diploma in Immigration Advising in New Zealand. Her academic background, combined with her practical experience, enables her to provide clear, accurate, and well-structured immigration advice. She has experience assisting with a variety of visa categories, including work visas, partnership-based applications, and residence pathways.

Originally from a migrant background, Imaya brings valuable understanding of the challenges faced by individuals and families navigating immigration processes. Her supportive approach helps create a welcoming and well-organised environment for clients. With a strong background in Information Technology and extensive experience in office management, Imaya efficiently manages systems, documentation, and internal processes, ensuring that applications are handled in a structured and timely manner.
She plays a key role in client communication, documentation management, and supporting the Licensed Immigration Advisers, helping to ensure that every case is prepared and processed efficiently.
Jessica Kim

Jessica Kim is an Immigration Assistant at Ivisalaw NZ, supporting the team with client coordination, documentation, and application processing.
Born in New Zealand to a migrant family, Jessica has grown up within the New Zealand education system and has a strong understanding of both migrant experiences and Kiwi culture. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Auckland and is currently undertaking a Graduate Diploma in Immigration Advising in New Zealand.
