New Zealand has a high standard of education.

Foreign students are welcomed at New Zealand universities and at other educational institutions on the basis that:

It fosters development of international linkages and mutual goodwill for exchange schemes.

It promotes increased foreign exchange earnings from educational services; and enhances the quality of New Zealand's educational services.

Minimum Requirements

You require:

  • An offer of a place at an educational in New Zealand
  • Evidence of exemption from course fees or evidence of payment of course fees.
  • A guarantee of accommodation - either from the institution or some other person such as a relative in New Zealand.
  • Be a genuine student

Educational institutions in New Zealand have minimum English language requirements and in some cases offer courses to enable students to meet those requirements.

In some areas we are able to offer assistance with placement of students in courses otherwise we are able to place you directly in touch with your desired institution.

Student visas generally restrict the student to study only in New Zealand but in some cases visas can be varied to enable employment - up to 20 hours per week.

Work permits on completion of the course study can also be applied for.
