This is a multiple re-entry temporary visa for those people wishing to:

• Apply for residence under the Entrepreneur Category or Entrepreneur Plus Category
• Establish a new or purchase an existing business in New Zealand.
• A requirement of the Entrepreneur (residence) category is the successful establishment or purchase of a business in New Zealand for two years. This visa enables that to be done.

The documentary requirements for this visa are substantial and we recommend professional advice.
It is not a points based visa. It is a 3 year work visa.

Applicants need:

• A satisfactory business plan and
• To have sufficient investment capital to establish a business together with additional funds for maintenance and accommodation of the applicant and family and
• Meet normal health and character requirements and
• Establish that they are genuinely interested in the setting up of a business in New Zealand.
• Demonstrate ownership in or managerial experience in a relevant business.

An effective business plan is essential to the success of an application under this category:

Applicants need to establish that they have sufficient capital to finance the business, have established a realistic budget, have relevant business experience, have not been involved in bankruptcy or business failure or fraud, have carried out sufficient market research as to the establishment of the business in New Zealand.

Assistance can also be given to identify an existing business venture to purchase and for researching markets in New Zealand.

There is no minimum or maximum amount of capital required. Each case is dealt with on its merits.
