If you do
not qualify under current criteria or -
If you do not presently
qualify but may after gaining further work experience or completing
qualifications or - obtaining skilled employment in New Zealand.
Whether you do qualify
and we would be able to obtain New Zealand permanent residence for you.
As we are a performance
based firm we do not advise you to proceed with a residency application
unless we believe we can obtain residency for you.
New Zealand Government
residency procedures in terms of the Immigration Act 1991 are on the
face of it straightforward. However the policy can be a mine field.
When we accept your instructions it is our brief to guide you through
the requirements for residency approval. We would not accept your case
otherwise.
Our experience with
expression of interest and residency applications is that their success
and time of processing is directly related to the quality of preparation
of the application and supporting evidence and submissions.
Our submissions
covering your application are lodged at the time the application is
sent to the New Zealand Immigration Service for processing.
Our experience with
clients who have completed a self assessment and lodged their own expression
of interest and been declined is that they have misinterpreted the policy
or have not been in possession of the full facts and the requirements
of the policy. Unfortunately, at that stage it is frequently to late
to assist these clients.
An assessment and
representation by professionals experienced in New Zealand Immigration
is strongly recommended.
All information
that you give to us is given on a strictly confidential basis.
We ask you
to complete an assessment questionnaire form to enable us to carry out
an assessment for you to see whether or not you would succeed with a
residency application.
On completion of
a positive assessment you must then advise us that you wish to retain
us to represent you. The following procedures will then apply:
A Fee Agreement
is completed.
The application
forms are completed by us and sent to you. The application includes
the principal applicant (who can either be the husband or the wife)
and all dependent children (under 24 years of age).
You are asked to
obtain all necessary documents to support the application and provided
with a list of these.
You are asked to
obtain police clearance certificates and undergo medicals and if necessary
the IELTS test.
All documents are
then returned to us for compilation.
We then prepare
our submissions on the application and the submissions and application
are lodged with the New Zealand Immigration Service.
Processing times
vary from immigration branch to immigration branch. We can advise you
of the time of the estimated completion time when your application is
lodged.
In some cases an
interview is required.
On approval of residency
we arrange for endorsement of residents visas in your passports. The
visas are valid for travel to New Zealand for one year. You must arrive
in New Zealand within that time to obtain your residents permits. Residents
permits will automatically be stamped in your passport on arrival in
New Zealand.
When a residents
visa is issued, you will also be issued with a two year returning resident
visa. This is a multiple re-entry type visa enabling you to come and
go from New Zealand as frequently as you wish. The extension of that
visa is dependent on the length of time you will spend in New Zealand
within that two year period.
If you spent at
least 6 months in each of the previous two years in New Zealand the
residence visa will be renewed for an indefinite period.
No financial
help is provided to you by the New Zealand Government. You are expected
to be able to support yourselves financially either through your own
resources or through an offer of employment or family members - at least
for the first 24 months.
Qualification for
various Government benefits such as superannuation, unemployment benefits,
sickness benefits require a qualifying residency period.
Citizenship is available
on application after residing in New Zealand for three years.
